The ADAIX and COSMO21 are typically held together and were held in Valencia from 20th to 25th May 2018. The ADAIX Summer School is more practical and the goal is to aid researchers to become more familiar with the latest tools and techniques in Data Science, which will eventually be very helpful in the era of massive surveys. In particular, we covered the following topics:

  • Machine Learning
  • Bayesian Methods
  • Sparsity-based analysis
  • Analysis of astronomical data with Python
  • Compressed sensing based instrumentation

On the other hand, COSMO21 consisted of a series of talks from researchers and the ones which I was particularly interested in include:

  1. Multiscale Cosmological Data Analysis with Deep Convolutional Networks ()
  2. Joint Analysis of CMB and Large Scale Structure with Deep Learning ()
  3. Machine-Learning Strategies for Variable Source Classification ()
  4. Sparsity and Deep Learning for modern surveys ()
  5. Automatic physical inference ()
